Speaking Out Against Workplace Abuse: Lessons Learned from the Steer PVD Scandal

The recent news about Steer PVD (Steer Films, Steer Forward, Slate Studios), a company based in Providence, has shocked many in the community. Two alleged former employees came forward with video journals of alleged mistreatment and abuse they experienced while working at the company. Unfortunately, this is not the first time we've heard about companies taking advantage of their employees.

We stand in solidarity with those who have spoken out against workplace abuse, and we commend the alleged former Steer employees for their courage in coming forward. We hope that this incident will serve as a wake-up call for other companies to re-examine their own practices and make sure that they are treating their employees with the respect and dignity they deserve.

As someone who has personally experienced lack of pay while working at Steer and heard similar stories from others, it is disappointing to hear of such mistreatment still happening. However, I am glad that these two workers came out and spoke the truth. As other companies, all we can do is treat our employees well and ensure they are valued members of our team.

We were saddened to hear about the alleged experiences that some people had at Steer, as it is a reminder that there is still much work to be done.
